A STRONG RECOVERY OF THE MOZAMBICAN ECONOMY IS EXPECTED, WITH AN ESTIMATED GROWTH OF 4.5% IN 2019 AND 5% IN 2020. THE PRODUCTION OF NATURAL GAS, THE RECOVERY OF AGRICULTURE AND AN EXTRACTIVE INDUSTRY IN CONTINUOUS RISE, ARE APPOINTED AS THE MAIN VECTORS OF THIS ECONOMIC REVIVAL.
Mozambique hopes to have made significant progress in maintaining economic stability and strengthening its foreign assets. However, a large unfinished agenda in terms of inclusive growth, fiscal sustainability and equitable access to the most basic services remain internal constraints.
Notwithstanding the potential obstacles and susceptibility to external shocks, efforts to rebuild infrastructure, to commit to sovereign debt management and to attract FDI, particularly in sectors such as mining and hydrocarbons, will keep the balance of payments sustainable.
